An important healthy process in the body is the metabolizing of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Symptoms of Ketones in Urine
The individual who may have ketones in their urine may not be aware of any specific symptoms. However, there may be other related conditions that could be identified. Conditions that may warrant a urine test to detect ketones could include an individual having an ulcer that is not healing or may demonstrate a high risk of cardiovascular disorder, neuropathies or being prone to a stroke.
Ketones may also present themselves in the urine if an individual is suffering from pneumonia, a heart attack, or is experiencing a stroke. These symptoms could include chest pain, fever, general malaise and breathlessness. In addition, a symptom of ketones in the urine may demonstrate itself as the individual becomes nauseous with possible episodes of vomiting.
How to Reduce Ketones in Urine
One of the primary ways to avoid ketones in the urine is to make sure that proper dietary practices are followed. It is also important to maintain a proper level of ingesting carbohydrates and minimizing the eating of fats. If an individual wishes to go on a high protein and low carbohydrate diet, it is important to discuss this option with one’s medical professional.
In regards to mothers who are lactating or who are pregnant it is important that their diet is balanced. Specifically, it is critical to eat sufficient quantities of carbohydrates and ingesting a significant amount of fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition, as part of the pregnancy diet, the expectant mother should eat cereals and dairy products in proper proportions.
Another food substance that has been known to enhance the digestion of sugar by the cells in the body is cinnamon. This is especially true if the individual has been diagnosed with insulin producing issues.
