Remedies for White Patches on the Skin
White patches on the skin, which are called vitiligo, occur when melanocyte cells in the skin pigments are destroyed. These patches can occur anywhere on the body, but are most often seen on the face, hands, back, and neck. There is currently no known cause of these white patches, but they may be caused by vitamin deficiencies, psoriasis, fungal infections, allergies, or eczema.
These white patches can also be the result of increased stress, autoimmune disorders, unhealthy diet, or overuse of antibiotics. This condition may spread depending on the cause. While vitiligo is not harmful, it can cause poor self – esteem. However, there are remedies that can help to lessen the appearance of white patches on the skin.
