What is Forteo?

This medication is a synthetic drug derived from a naturally produced hormone found in the body. This hormone is called parathyroid. The recommended dosage of this medication is a prescribed injection of 20mcg. This medication is taken daily and is a subcutaneous injection or just beneath the top layer of the area of injection.

What are the Side Effects?
As with any medication there may be associated side effects. Forteo side effects could include a rapid heartbeat or the symptom of being dizzy. Other side effects could include the feeling of nausea, emesis or vomiting, weakness of the muscles, or constipation.

Minor side effects that maybe realized include irritation around the injection point. Those symptoms include possible pain, swelling at the point of entry, itching and or bruising. Other minor symptoms that maybe demonstrated include cramping of the legs, pain in joints, neck pain, soreness of the throat, runny nose and a cough.

Generally, these side effects, if experienced by the individual, will be demonstrated within four hours after the injection of this medicine.
